Pocket Legends doesn't require a subscription to play, though advancing past level 13 means playing for an additional campaign.
Although quests can be played with a maximum of four other people (for a total of five players), you can socialise in the towne with more than two dozen.
While you're free to play on your own, it's much easier to finish quests and acquire more experience when playing as a member of a party.
All three classes have their advantages and disadvantages, but the Avian Archer is likely the most easiest of the classes to play.
If you don't have enough gold to purchase an item, you can select in-app purchasing to buy items with real money. Just be careful that you switch back to gold purchasing when you're finished shopping!
