Free mmorpg maker

if anyone could tell me where the hell i'm sposed to get a mmorpg maker that is 3D could you please notify me? oh and once i start to make it i need some people who know how to make 3D chacters and stuff because with that stuff i have no clue. all that i have used is RM2K and i am sick of 2D. And sick of offline. so i need a crew and a program before i get this project off the ground. Yeah i, i guess i just want to make on online game like delta force, but no massive multiplayer, just like 16 people on each server. do you know where i cold get that? Because i really like first person and all the vehicles from delta force and i want to recreate that in a multiplayer co-op only game.

You can take 2D engine and throw 3D objects in it to appear 3D. If your running a MMORPG, I would recommend this. You can call me what ever you want, but read what I have to say before you say anything that makes you look bad.

Most 3D Engines, such as NWN (which is awesome but not free) will require a bandwidth up/down stream of 28.8Kbps per client. That means, if your running a cable modem or DSL, you will more or so likely have a Downstream of 3Mbps with an upstream of 300Kbps. This means, if you are not ever going to use your DSL/cable modem, you can have no greater then 10 players on your server. If you run a 2D engine, you can get away with a bandwidth of 14.4kbps per client, which could double your client quota.

Now for the question, why:
3D Engines often come with a greater need of information to be transmitted. For example, with most 3D engines, you will be able to move a full 360degrees in any direction with added conditions (obstacles). Each direction will transmit information, along with movement and speed data. This does not include the players and NPCS of which will have this same data being sent to the server, and thus to you. This in itself takes a great deal of bandwidth, and we have not included actions such as attacking, spells, active abilities, etc. Only way to get out of this problem is by creating a 3D game with quad-directional movement, that establishes a combat event outside of the normal playing ground (more or so like Final Fantasy games where you move into a different place each and every time you fight). With all the limitations you will be experience, it will be far more efficient to simple take a 2D engine and install 3D objects in it. Mortal Combat is an example of this. It's all 2D, but the 3D objects are appealing enough. Hope this helps...

However, if you insist on making a 3D MMORPG, and you just want to make the MMORPG but not the game itself, go buy yourself Neverwinter Nights http://nwn.bioware.com. It is a very useful and powerful game, and it also allows you to use what is known as hak packs, which allows you to pretty much alter the entire game without giving you the source code. If you use 3D Studio Max, make your own music, have a good number of 2D pictures, they can all be installed in hak format, and put into a NWN module. Be warned though, bandwidth is required. I have to pay a bit over $100 to have only 20 people on my server.
