Last Thursday night at the Fan Faire Welcome Reception, SOE President John Smedley revealed the name and logo for the next EverQuest II expansion; Destiny of Velious.
In Destiny of Velious, new and veteran players will be transported to the legendary Great Wastes of Velious, where towering dungeons, dangerous beasts and epic storylines await. Find out where the ongoing tale of Norrath will lead, and see what happens when the twin Swords of Destiny are drained of their powers, and the prophecy known as Age's End begins to unfold.
On Friday, the team presented the EverQuest II: The Next Expansion! panel at Fan Faire and gave a few sneak peeks at the new content, shared some unreleased details, and revealed some exciting new features coming to EverQuest II.

EverQuest II MMO will be receiving another expansion pack, called Destiny of Velious, set to be launched exclusively on the PC on February 11, 2011.
The new package will take up the game narrative from where it was left off by the Sentinel's of Fate content, with the focus for the player being on the announced end of the EverQuest universe, foretold by prophecy and linked to the power of two swords, Soulfire and Qeynos.
Destiny of Velious takes the players to a Great Waste, where huge dungeons are joined by dangerous beats and by complex quests designed to deliver one of the best MMO experiences out there.
One of the foes that groups of players will need to do battle with in Destiny of Velious is Rallos Zek, the God of War of the universe.
The developers are saying that Destiny of Velious will include several enhancements and cool new features, most notably is the addition of ridable mounts. Now, players can fly over the terrain of Velious on their way to quests. Hundreds of new weapons and items are available, over 300 new quests, 10 new dungeons, four new Heritage Quests, and over 30 new creatures to do battle against.
