Faceebook and Heatwave Interactive Launched Platinum Life: Web Edition, The hip-hop element narrows the game to a very specific audience. For those into that scene, it will be a great place to get updates on their favorite artists while playing a game. Whether that's enough to make the game stand above the hundreds of similar games already on Facebook remains to be seen.
Unlike all of the other mission-based games on Facebook, Platinum Life includes the backing of real hip-hop artists. Players can complete missions for these artists in the game, and they can get the latest news on these artists on the game's homepage. The first artists announced for the game include Ludacris, Omarion, DJ Holiday, DJ Skee, and Shontelle.
Facebook Games: Platinum Life Web Edition is a mission-based game set in the world of hip-hop music. Players create a rapper, DJ, or singer and attempt to climb the ladder of fame and fortune in the music business.
You start the game by creating your character, or paper doll, as the game refers to it. After that you can jump right in and start taking missions. You don't have to do anything to complete the mission itself, but occasionally, there will be some "drama" in a mission. You'll have three choices of how to respond to the drama, and what you choose can gain you extra stat points or items, or decrease your stat points. Upon completing the mission, you get experience and various amounts of cash. The missions have prerequisites that must be met before you can take them on. Some of them require a certain level, others require you to have a certain item in your inventory.
